Job Overview
Location: Bancroft, Ontario
Structure: Commercial building with flat roof and aluminum siding
Problem: Mouse activity reported in office kitchen
Service: Mouse treatment
Visits: 1
Summary
Our team at pestcontrolbancroft.ca completed a single-visit mouse control service at a commercial office building in Bancroft after reports of ongoing mouse activity inside the kitchen area. The visit focused on interior treatment and exterior monitoring to reduce rodent pressure on the structure.
Background / Property Context
The property is a commercial building with aluminum siding, a flat roof, and a frequently used front entrance. The building is adjacent to mixed ground cover and landscaped areas, which can support rodent movement along the exterior foundation.
Customer Concern
The customer reported repeated signs of mice inside the office, primarily concentrated in the kitchen area where food and water sources are present.
Inspection & Findings
During the initial inspection, our technician Grant examined both the interior and exterior of the building. Inside, activity indicators were consistent with mouse movement in the kitchen area. Exterior inspection identified multiple structural vulnerabilities, including visible gaps along sections of the siding and openings at the foundation line that could allow rodent entry. No active exclusion work was performed during this visit.
Cause Analysis
Commercial buildings with frequent door use and multiple service penetrations can provide repeated entry opportunities for mice. Gaps at the foundation and behind siding panels can serve as concealed access points. Nearby vegetation and ground cover can further encourage rodent travel along the structure perimeter.
Treatment / Removal
Interior mouse control was carried out by a licensed exterminator in accordance with Ontario Ministry of the Environment guidelines. Tamper-resistant bait stations containing commercial-grade rodenticide were placed in identified high-activity areas within the office kitchen. Two larger, weighted exterior bait stations were also installed to reduce exterior rodent pressure around the building. These stations were secured and positioned to target rodent movement along the foundation.
Exclusion & Repairs
No exclusion or structural sealing was completed during this service visit. Identified gaps and openings were documented for potential future remediation.
Outcome & Confirmation
At the conclusion of the visit, all bait stations were securely installed and positioned as planned. The customer was advised that the treatment was in place to address the active mouse issue and to monitor for changes in activity following the service.
Technician Notes
Exterior photos show the building perimeter with aluminum siding, foundation-level gaps, and ground-level conditions near entry points. Additional images document bait station placement along the exterior and beneath adjacent decking areas where rodent travel is likely.
